About creating drama in your performance...

alt Since 1999 Sebastian and Mariana performed in more than 140 cities, 35 countries, they are invitied to more than 40 tango festivals in Europe, Asia, North America and Latin America each year. Performed with several orchestras including Fernandez Fierro, Orquesta Típica Imperial, Soledad Orquesta, Hyperion Ensemble, La Chicana, with neotango bands such as Bajofondo Tango Club, Gustavo Santaolalla, Tanghetto and Electrocutango. alt They are the choreographers of the show 'Piazzolleando' performed in the UK, Italy and Belgium, and co-directors of the recent spectacle Exodo Tangueando. Sebastian and Mariana are regular teachers, performers at C.I.T.A. (Congresso Internacional de Tango Argentino). alt Sebastian Arce started dancing tango at the early age of 8, he is also trained in contemporary dance, contact improvisation, modern jazzballet, classical ballet, step, Argentine folk, stage dancing and singing. He performed in the movie Tango by Carlos Saura (which by the way will be screened during the festival). Mariana Montes is a trained Argentine folk dance teacher with a background in modern jazzballet, hip-hop, classical ballet, pilates and stage dancing. alt Horacio Godoy is one of the most popular teachers and performers in the world. This year he will be here with his charming new partner Magdalena Gutierrez. alt Horacio "El Pebete" Godoy has been trained for almost a decade with by the milongueros of Villa Urquiza in Buenos Aires. From 1991 Horacio manages, DJs and teaches at 'La Viruta', the biggest and most prestigous milonga and tango school in Argentina. In 2009 and 2010 he was invited to over 20 festivals around the world. He is the musical coordinator of the annual tango festival of the city of Buenos Aries and of the annual World Championship of tango in Buenos Aires since their inception. Last year he went on an international tour with the Broadway show Forever Tango. He has been performing in different tango shows for over a decade, including the show 'La Tanguera' and other productions of the Mora Godoy Company. alt Magdalena's dancing 15-year dancing career spans different areas including jazz, contemporary dance, classical dance based on biomechanic, stretching and latin rythms. She began dancing tango in 2000, at Escuela Argentina de Tango, Estudio Mora Godoy, Fernando Galera, Pablo Verón, Roberto Herrera, Martín Ojeda, Eliana Sanchez, Chicho Frumboli, Gabriel Angio y Natalia Games, Eduardo Cappusi. She has participed on some of the most important stage tango shows, including Tanguera, Tango Emoción, Estamos Vivos Tango, Flamentango. Today she does regular tours in Europe as member of the Pasiones Company (Divino Tango). alt Pablo Veron is an actor, dancer (of a great number of different styles from tap to tango), choreographer, who is perhaps most known for his lead role in 'The Tango Lesson' (1997) a movie by Academy Award winning Sally Potter. His choreographies in the movie won him the American Choreography Award in 1998. However, he remains one of the most elusive stars of tango. As he said in an interview: 'I do not see myself like a celebrity at all. I don’t like people seeing me that way, I never looked for fame, it is just not my dream.' alt

Watching Pablo perform in person is a privilege. Particularly appealing is his calm flow. He is so smooth, so anti-cliché, that one wonders if the un-initiated even appreciate the technical mastery he exhibits. His understatement and subtlety are as what we appreciate in great artists of any genre. His inventiveness had given him a significant place in tango history, as a choreographer, teacher and dancer even before he became an international star via the film. He has that star quality about him. He looks young. He has everything creative, sensual and elegant about Argentine tango in his back pocket.(You may be reminded of the original excitement you felt when you first saw tango ... when you wondered, 'How can they do that?')

His classes are challenging and rewarding.

alt Pablo says, 'a good tango dancer is someone who has respect for the woman; he adapts himself to her, he makes her feel that she is the best dancer, he dances for her' alt Ismael and Maria have been to Budapest several times in the past, not failing to impress Hungarian milongueros every time. Their concepts on the mechanics of movement, connection dynamics between dancers provide great artistic and creative freedom to improvise. alt Ismael is focusing on communication, combining a relaxed style with freedom of expression. He worked together intensively with Gustavo Naveira and Mariano 'Chicho' Frúmboli. He taught together with Sebastian Arce and Mariana Montes and also Melina Bruffmann and Claudio Gonzales. Besides tango he has experience in contact improvisation, eutonia, butoh and stage dancing as well. alt Maria concentrates on organic quality of movement, connection between the dancers, the expression and warmth. She started her carrier with renown milonguero Juan Durso (in BsAs), then worked intensively with Gustavo Naveira, Maurico Castro and Carla Marano, Mariano "Chicho" Frúmboli and Eugenia Parilla and Pablo Inza. She has experience in theatre, flamenco, contemporary dance and release technique. She taught in the Mora Godoy Studio, Tango Brujo Academia and at La Fragua. alt Many within the inner circles of Argentine Tango have been wondering how this new constellation made up of a hot Turkish-Argentinean melting pot will turn out. They met on the floors of Buenos Aires milongas and felt an instant and unique connection, first in the dance and later in the attraction that grew between them as lovers. Now they have finally taken the decision to transform a love affair into a professional constellation, working together with tango. It may sound as the most obvious step to take but taking into consideration that they both on each part have had successful careers working in other constellations, it takes some courage to take the leap into the unknown. To mix these two talented dancers can only have one outcome: something extraordinary. The base is still tango but the interpretation and the expression are new every time. alt Serkan is famous for the work he made together with Özhan Araz, his Turkish childhood friend and later dance partner. Two young men that for close to eight years were working and touring together as professional tango teachers and performers at some of the biggest tango festivals in the world, as well as working with dance choreography for television and cinema in their home country, Turkey. Appreciated for their innovative teaching method, based on the fact that as being two men they shared the dancing roles equally, and as a result had acquired a very profound understanding of the dance. Both coming from the athlete world, being semi-professional sportsmen, helped them in focusing, both physically and mentally, to always reach higher levels, constantly developing. alt Cecilia has an impressive dancing background covering everything from traditional argentine folk dance, contemporary dance, contact, aerial, jazz, to tango. She also has a teaching degree for the piano. Maybe this combination can explain her outstanding musical and physical expression, close to being unchallenged by anyone in the competition. Or maybe it can be explained simply by raw talent and gift. However, her dancing style cannot be easily explained, it has to be experienced live. If you have seen her at a performance, you know. Not only has she been working as a performer, she has also a genuine experience as a tango teacher, Buenos Aires being her home base.
